MATHWORKS
DESIGN SYSTEM
VISUAL DESIGN / DESIGN SYSTEM / BRANDING / 2019-2023
This concept project was slightly different from a typical design system in that I wanted to redesign the most trafficked web pages (~20) first to gain a better understanding of what was needed for MathWorks’ website. Through this, I discovered what types of components would be needed, what typography hierarchy would be most flexible for content types, and the principles that would guide the design for the rest of the website.
The color scheme was inspired by in-product imagery within MATLAB. The branding uses shades of navy as the primary color palette, with brighter, more colorful accents.
The hierarchy of the CTAs is to use the buttons for only the most important links and the text CTAs for secondary, clickable items.
The iconography uses Google Material Design System icons since the collection provides continuity as well as flexibility across web and mobile apps.
